Horse of the Week: Ellis

Happy pre-spring break Horse of the Week! Ellis and I are very excited for our week off and a nice break from school/work.

Ellis is a repurposed king, made of packaging from a Le Labo package I received. Le Labo is a fragrance brand that has a very unique brand identity, focusing on simple, nostalgic aesthetic that almost evokes a scientific charm. This provides their customers with the idea of a quality, handcrafted product made just for them. I decided to use the packaging because I like repurposing packaging when I can, but also because I really enjoyed the look of the sketch against the brown paper. You can hardly tell that the sketch is printed on and looks like an original drawing.

I chose the name Ellis because I think it reflects the overall brand image that Le Labo tries to display. Timeless, elegant, classy, yet also gender neutral, which defines just about every Le Labo fragrance. Ellis may be a horse, but I know if he had a signature scent, it would be Another 13 (my personal favorite perfume from Le Labo.)
